Global warming….Yup we said it! Haha Really though, as it continues to escalate, its impact on our daily lives becomes increasingly evident. One of the consequences of rising temperatures is the overworking of air conditioning (A/C) units.

Global warming has led to a noticeable increase in average temperatures worldwide. Consequently, summers have become hotter and more prolonged, resulting in extended periods of AC usage. AC units are designed to handle specific temperature ranges, but prolonged exposure to excessively high temperatures can put excessive stress on their components.

We are hoping to explain how important regular maintenance of your AC unit becomes imperative. Here are some key reasons why maintenance is essential. Regular maintenance ensures that your AC unit operates at its peak efficiency. Clean filters, condenser coils, and evaporator coils enable the system to work effectively, cooling your space more efficiently and consuming less energy.

When A/C units operate beyond their optimal capacity, they tend to work on overload. The compressor, responsible for cooling the air, must work harder to maintain the desired indoor temperature, leading to increased energy consumption. Additionally, the evaporator coils, responsible for absorbing heat, can become overloaded, hindering their efficiency and potentially causing the A/C to freeze up.

With hotter summers putting significant strain on these cooling systems, A/C units are more likely to break down when they are overworked and neglected. Proper maintenance significantly extends the lifespan of your A/C unit. By addressing minor issues early on, you prevent them from escalating into major problems that could lead to costly repairs or even the need for a premature replacement. A well-maintained A/C unit consumes less energy to cool your home. This not only lowers your utility bills but also reduces your carbon footprint, contributing to the fight against global warming.

The most important thing we believe is to ensure your filter is replaced regularly and make sure your condensation line stay flushed out to prevent algae build up which will cause drain line backups and will most likely result in your unit to stop cooling as a safety feature.
