Reliable Water Softening Systems
Water softening systems have many benefits and are an ideal option for homes in Venice with light to heavy hard water. A water softener works by removing the heavy minerals present in water, such as iron and calcium, thereby helping prevent common water problems like scale buildup.
If left to accumulate, these mineral deposits can contribute to significant problems with your plumbing system. Chalky films, leaky faucets, dry skin after showering, and damage to water-based appliances are examples of issues brought on by scale buildup.
Installing water softening systems in your home can assist in solving these issues. The softener prevents heavy minerals from flowing through the household water. Once softened, this water can loosen up and brighten clothes and reduce the time spent on cleaning dishes.
As you look for water-softening solutions, we’d like to point out that there’re many different water softeners available today. However, almost all these systems rely on one principle – ion exchange – to transform hard water into soft water.
In a conventional water softening system, the hard water goes through a tank filled with resin beads and saturated with sodium, where sodium ions are exchanged for calcium ions. Once they’re attached to the beads, the sodium present on them enters the water, softening it.
Over time, this resin bed will become flush with minerals and will need to go through what we call a “regeneration” cycle. The cycle helps in returning the softener to its normal operation process, making it more efficient.
